CIA's Dirty Secret: US Turns Blind Eye on Notorious Terrorist
by grtv

A former CIA operative, who's wanted in Venezuela and Cuba for terrorist attacks throughout Latin America, has gone on trial in the U.S. But that's not why Luis Posada Carriles is in court. Instead, he's being charged with lying to immigration officers.

Coined the ‘Bin Laden of the Americas', the anti-Castro Cuban was the CIA’s dirty secret in South and Central America. Trained as an explosives expert at the notorious School of the Americas, Posada’s acts of terrorism span five decades and impacted half a dozen countries.

RT's Jihan Hafiz looks at why the U.S. is turning a blind eye to an alleged terrorist.

Short, but fine report by RT.

Lee Rials says:

It would have been impossible for the School of the Americas to have had anything to do with Posada's training. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Army at Fort Benning in 1964-65. The School of the Americas was in Panama at that time, not being relocated to Fort Benning until 20 years later. Maybe your research isn't so 'global' after all. (By the way, I am the Public Affairs Officer for the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation, which replaced the school ten years ago.)

Lee Rials says: "He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Army at Fort Benning in 1964-65."

So, you acknowledge that he was only in Fort Benning for 1 year. BTW, It was 1963-64, not 1964-65.
See CIA's Declassified report on Luis Posada:

Note to Lee: It's not a good look to criticize the accuracy of others' research while being so tardy in your own 'supposed' area of expertise.

But I digress,

You take this 1 year as irrefutable proof that it is 'impossible' for him to have been trained at the School of the Americas and don't even CONSIDER the possibility that he may have been trained there in Panama before that 1 year. Really?
e.g.during the periods that the CIA's report above lists him as being 'unemployed' .

With that kind of unbelievably moronic and lazy thinking in one claiming to be in a senior position engaged in 'Security Cooperation' on our behalf, it's no wonder we are viewed as incompetent and distrusted around the world.

Maybe you also need to be replaced - and quick!
