The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has "carpet bombed" the entire neighborhoods in Libya, a writer and geopolitical analyst told Press TV's US Desk in an interview.
"They carpet bombed the country ... their deliberate tactic was to create a humanitarian disaster and to militarily clear the way, without any humanitarian regards, without any regards for human life," said Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya, from the Canadian-based Centre for Research on Globalization, on Monday.
"[NATO] used every dimension of the psychological war including the media to create fear which created a state of panic and it also traumatized the local population and it caused a lot of people to defect, not a lot but it did cause quite a fair number of people to defect or to remain neutral," Nazemroaya said.
Nazemroaya further added that NATO should be held accountable for the war crimes it has committed against the state of Libya.
Meanwhile, NATO's Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen went on to say that the US-led military alliance would soon end its operation in Libya. Rasmussen, however, added that a definite timetable would not be announced as their withdrawal depends on the assessment made by commanders on ground.
Libya has been the scene of intense fighting between government troops and the fighters since a revolution seeking to topple the now-fugitive Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi began in mid-February. The US and NATO started to unleash a punishing UN-mandated offensive against Gaddafi in an alleged attempt to pressure him into giving up power on March 19.
The alliance's airstrikes have claimed the lives of hundreds of civilians.

Thank you Mahdi for informing us the truth. They interviewed a man and told him to blame Qaddafi for "closing the water". The man looked at the reporter as if asking he was saying it correctly. First his said "this rat" but it seems that someone corrected him and he changed for "this mouse".
I'm glad you're back and would love to interview you for my blog.
I wanted to know about CNN threatening independent journalists and people like you.
I wanted to know how was your stay there. But I don't think you can say everything so I'll keep following what you publish and trying to make other people see it too.
You are a hero.
You have been one of the last men standing along with the Libyan army.
I wish you a very long life.
I am indebted to you.
Nazemroaya needs to call out the CNN "reporter" or other Western/American media embeds who threatened him and other independent journalists there.
This same CNN/US spook can not only threaten but murder other independent journalists in the future if he/she is not outed and exposed to the light of day.
Name and shame the American war criminal media.
Five mornings before 9/11, I witnessed symbolic carpet bombing. I posted a serious description at cbc[dot]ca in fall 2002 when there was talk of attacking Iraq, not having had internet access before then. Some people threatened me, so I invited them to try to follow through on their threats, which I knew they would never follow through on and they didn't. But more important was that plenty of people thanked me, and that was grately appreciated.
These wars are all criminal. No doubt about it. There is absolutely no way that we can justify any of these wars.
These wars must stop!
Qaddafi is a hero to all the Muslims in the world. InsyaAllah we will win back . Then we will try those war criminals
Thanks for your courage. We need more genuine information!
Nuff Respects!

Thank you Mahdi. It is so sad to know that another country and their people have been added to the list of mass suffering from imperialism's insatiable desire for more resources as human rights, poverty, democracy and the destruction of our planet continue to worsen.
We have a responsibility here to speak for those living in these areas who are too sick,heart-brokened, and scared to speak.
" There comes a time when silence is betrayal." Martin Luther King Jr.
Divine Justice is the ftrue and final answer!
We must take a stand, it is true, but let's not dream. When so few speak up for the people in their own country-the poor and oppressed--how can they even speak up for people in other countries? The day awaits when many more will speak up and stand up; but rest assured that we will receive the same treatment (as the Libyan people) at the the hands of our own government and our beloved troops. Dr. Martin Luther King, jr's assasination is one such example of the fact that truth will not be tolerated by those in power. That is the reality. If everyone was willing to make that ultimate sacrifice there would probably be more peace in the world today.
hilarious....
