Sanctioning Israel: Debating the BDS Movement
by grtv

What goals has the BDS movement achieved so far? Does it aim for a constructive solution to the conflict? How should Israel react to it?

Norman Finkelstein and Noam Chomsky agree that the goal of the movement is to destroy Israel - how valid is this judgment? Can the movement reinvent itself and win support from those who criticize it today?

CrossTalking with Gilad Atzmon, Eric Walberg and Omar Baddar.

I suppose you support the draconian sanctions against the Iranian people because they want quite legally to use nuclear power, no weapons. Iranians and most Muslims and Christians think God is on their side. Why is that Jews are considered so special that nobody else has human rights, even in their own land were they have lived for centuries?
A two State solution would not be needed if Israeli Jews were able to behave humanely and fairly and share the land as the Jews did for centuries with Arabs and others before Israel was installed. Why hide behind walls in a ghetto to keep out any others? Strange version of godliness.

BDS could never win support from me. It's a shameful organization. It bothers me even more that there are so-called Christian organizations involved in this. They obviously are not acquainted with their own Scriptures. God gave the land of Israel to the Jews as an everlasting inheritance. The Jews are not the occupiers, and the two-state solution is doomed to fail.

Happy Birthday, Israel. Praise God for the fulfillment of His promises to bring His people home and to make you a nation in a day. 483years . blogspot . com

My first comment was in reply to downtown dave.
I enjoyed the interviews, giving a variety of views. Omar was a bit repetitive, Eric is too optimistic about the USA's likelihood of removing its support to Zionism. Gilad has a lot of points worth pondering.
All the best for BDS!

Full Anti-Semitic board lower the discussion to null and void. Why can't RT bring to the panel at least one sober and decent participant?

Chomsky makes a valid point about this current BDS movement, however, in the end--ANY group efforts taken against Israel--almost of any kind--will help alert & educate others about the real truth behind Israel's actions all these years: To exterminate the Palestinians & get them out of Israel, a land they consider to be given to them "by God" no less--as per their crazy religious beliefs.
